Programme Support

LCVP Support is now part of the Second Level Support Service (SLSS) of the Department of Education and Science. This body offers coordinated support to second level schools involved in the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP), Leaving Certificate Applied Programme (LCA), Transition Year Programme (TY), Junior Certificate School Programme (JCSP), Leaving Certificate English, Leaving Certificate Chemistry, Leaving Certificate Physics, Leaving Certificate Biology, Leaving Certificate Home Economics, Mathematics and Civic Social and Political Education (CSPE).

The LCVP Support Service has been put into place by the Department of Education and Science to assist teachers and schools in planning, implementing and evaluating the programme.

The Support Service provides:

Whole staff induction to the LCVP for new schools
Information sessions for employers and outside organisations
In–career development courses for all aspects of the programme
Local networks for LCVP Coordinators and teachers
Resource materials and CDROM's to support teachers in the classroom
Work with Education Centres to provide support to LCVP teachers in schools
